Personally speaking.. i didn like it... cos it does not show the full list of the contacts online... (PS: maybe it does show.. but i didn try it for too long once i didn c the full list of my contacts ol )

Yup! I agree that the All contacts button is too messy right now. Moreover for making Voice calls you need to install the client eventually.
Its high time Google starts providing the Smiley and Video Chat features on the standalone client.
