Kodak Adds to the Z and M-series Camera Line-up

Kodak today announced the latest addition to its Z-Series and M-series line of digital cameras - The Kodak Easyshare Z1015 IS and the Kodak Easyshare M1093 IS.

The camera offers both long-distance and wide-angle shots with the 15X SCHNEIDER- KREUZNACH VARIOGON Optical Zoom Lens (f/2.8 28mm wide-angle) with image stabilization lens.

It offers a click-to-capture speed of <0.22 sec and can manage HD pictures and videos. The Kodak Easyshare Z1015 IS Digital Camera will be available from September 2008 at US$349.95 MSRP. Easyshare M1093


An affordable camera, the M1093 is for the style conscious and includes easy features like the Smart Capture feature that identifies the scene and adjusts camera settings for any environment, automatically. Image stabilization and blur reduction technology reduces blur caused by camera shake, subject movement or fast-action situations.

The Kodak Easyshare M1093 IS Digital Camera will retail for US$199.95 MSRP from September 2008.




iPhone Will Take 15 Minutes to Unlock at Apple Stores

One more day to go before Apple opens its doors to the eager mobile users standing in queue to get their hands on the iPhone 3G. It’s been a long run for the iPhone and it’s come a long way. I still believe it has a long way to go though. Of course anyone who’s been keeping up with the facts will know that Apple has the designed the iPhone 3G to be unlocked only from an Apple or AT&T store. This unlocking procedure, according to an Apple will take about 10 – 15 minutes.

Apart from the information that US customers will need to under go a credit check by providing their Social Security numbers and or credit cards and now this, you’ll have to have an immense amount of patience especially after waiting in long lines. Good luck guys. Hope it’s worth it.

Non Stop Train

This has to be one of the smartest ideas i’ve seen in a long time.
Last year Mr peng yu-lun devised a system which, when implemented at mrt stations, will negate the need for trains to stop or decelerate at all stations, when approaching the station itself. The idea as you’ll see in the video below, is to have a separate designated carriage for people wishing to board or alight the train which waits at the platform. The carriage then attaches to the train as it passes underneath and eventually rests on the roof until the next stop approaches and the carriage detaches and comes to a halt.

One advantage that immediately springs to mind is a presumably huge energy saving due to the fact that the main train would no longer have to stop and start on a regular basis.
I came across this video by complete mistake today on a chinese version of youtube and subsequently spent what seemed like a lifetime trying to find related information that wasn’t in taiwanese. If anyone can translate the audio i’d be grateful. the only written info i could find was from the ‘taiwan headlines’ website, which can be read here.

Vodafone, Airtel Offer Pre-Registering of iPhone

When the iPhone 3G was announced, unlike Airtel, Vodafone made no formal announcement that it would be bringing the much awaited iPhone to India.


Apple, though, confirmed by mentioning that India would get the iPhone 3G through Airtel and Vodafone.

Now Vodafone has announced that people can pre-register for the iPhone with them, indicating that the iPhone will be available soon. The company is tight-lipped on the question 'How soon?'. All they are willing to divulge is that the iPhone will be compatible only with the 2G networks and some of the iPhone 3G's features may not work here.

Blizzard Announces Diablo III

It’s time once again, to unsheathe your demonslaying sword... Blizzard opened their World Wide Invitational today with the announcement of one of the most anticipated sequels in the history of action-RPGs - Diablo III


While no platforms were mentioned, the video played at the event hinted that the game might be exclusive to Mac and PC users. We’ll keep you updated as and when we hear anything more.

It’s been just a few hours since the official announcement of Diablo III and the website for the game has already gone live with two videos – one cinematic and one gameplay, can find the website here.


Here’s a bit of the game’s story:

When Deckard Cain returns to the ruins of Tristram's Cathedral seeking clues to new stirrings of evil, a comet from the heavens strikes the very ground where Diablo once entered the world. The comet carries a dark omen in its fiery being and it calls the heroes of Sanctuary to defend the mortal world against the rising powers of the Burning Hells – and even the failing luminaries of the High Heavens itself.

From the gameplay video, it seems a lot like what they did with StarCraft 2 – they stayed close to the game’s roots where everything from the interface to the gameplay is concerned. New inclusions include a destructible environment, and this is the first time that’s ever been used in an RPG.
